- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa; stir into the creamed mixture.
- Mix in the pecans.
- Spread evenly into an ungreased 9 inch tart pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool before serving.
