Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa; stir into the creamed mixture.
  5. Mix in the pecans.
  6. Spread evenly into an ungreased 9 inch tart pan.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool before serving.
