Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, corn syrup and salt.
  2. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is hot and the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the chopped chocolate.
  4. Stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Transfer to a bowl and cool to room temperature.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. Pour into an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
  8. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
