- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat.
- Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Beat in 1/2 cup flour and cocoa.
- Spread batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Brownies should appear done on the outside, but still slightly soft in the center.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
