Ingredients
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crust
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place pie crust in a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter, vanilla extract and salt.
  3. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
  4. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell.
  5. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Cool completely before serving.
  7. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator.
