- 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie crust
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place pie crust in a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter, vanilla extract and salt.
- Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
- Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool completely before serving.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator.
