- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla and egg until light and fluffy.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
- Scoop ice cream onto one bar and top with another bar to make an ice cream sandwich.
