Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 inch pie plate.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread evenly into the prepared pie plate.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown. Cool before serving.
