Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips, divided

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in 1/2 cup of the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin tins. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top of each cupcake.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.
