Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the cocoa, flour, salt and baking powder; stir into the batter until well blended.
  5. Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  6. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Do not overcook! The brownies will look soft and moist when done. Cool before cutting into squares.
  8. Melt remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips and spread over cooled brownies before cutting into squares.
