- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the melted butter and sugar.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the cocoa, flour, salt and baking powder; stir into the batter until blended.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Brownies are done when toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan before cutting into squares.
