- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar. Stir in the egg and vanilla.
- Add the baking powder, salt and flour; mix until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until edges are golden brown and center is set.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
