- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef until no longer pink. Drain off any fat.
- Add the onion and bell pepper. Cook for 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the tomato sauce and beans. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite toppings.
