Chili Con Carne
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained

Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef until no longer pink. Drain off any fat.
  2. Add the onion and bell pepper. Cook for 5 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce and beans. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Serve with your favorite toppings.
