- 1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup cooked brown rice
- 1/4 cup minced red onion
- 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley leaves
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- In a medium bowl, mash the chickpeas with a fork until they are mostly mashed.
- Add the brown rice, onion, parsley, garlic, cumin, paprika and salt to the bowl and mix until everything is combined.
- Form the mixture into four patties.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and spray with cooking oil.
- Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side or until lightly golden brown.
- Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
