1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 3/4 cups chicken broth
2/3 cup milk
2 cups diced cooked chicken
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed

Steps
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; cook and stir onion until tender.
Mix flour, salt, and pepper in a bowl; stir into the onion mixture.
Gradually stir in chicken broth and milk; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Stir in chicken and vegetables.
Pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 25 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
