- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 6 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the butter, flour, sugars, cornstarch, salt and cinnamon.
- In a 9 inch pie plate, spread the cherry mixture.
- Sprinkle the flour mixture over the cherries and mix lightly.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
