- 3 cups fresh or frozen cherries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Place cherries in a medium saucepan and mash with a potato masher.
- Add sugar and lemon juice and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to an airtight container.
