Cherry Cobbler
Ingredients
  • 2 cans pitted dark sweet cherries
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the cherries and their juice, butter, granulated sugar, cinnamon, almond extract, and salt. Mix until combined.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, mix together the flour and brown sugar. Add this mixture to the cherry mixture and stir until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Let cool before serving.
