- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Grease a 2 quart baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in flour until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
- Gradually stir in milk; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheese and salt until cheese is melted.
- Arrange potatoes in prepared dish; pour cheese sauce over potatoes.
- Bake for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.
