- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons baking soda
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt. Add the warm water and oil and stir until combined.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece of dough into a 4-inch rope and shape into a pretzel. Place on a greased baking sheet.
- In a medium bowl, combine the baking soda and melted butter. Brush each pretzel with the butter mixture.
- Bake at 375°F for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic and remaining butter mixture. Brush each pretzel with the garlic butter mixture before serving.
