- 3 cups self-rising flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 (12 fluid ounce) can beer
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the beer and melted butter. Mix until just blended.
- Stir in the cheese and garlic powder.
- Pour batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes in preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
