- 1 lb macaroni noodles
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually stir in milk and season with garlic powder, pepper and salt. Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
- Stir in broccoli and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in cooked macaroni noodles and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5 minutes or until heated through.
- Stir in cheese until melted. Serve warm.
