- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 6 strips cooked bacon, crumbled
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt.
- Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or fork until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cheese and bacon.
- Add buttermilk and stir until just combined.
- Drop heaping 1/4-cup portions of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
