- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Grease an 8 inch square baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream.
- Combine the cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
- Mix in the cheese.
- Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the bread comes out clean.
