- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 6 quarts popped popcorn
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Grease one very large roasting pan.
- Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in corn syrup, brown sugar and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in baking soda. Mixture will be light and foamy.
- Pour mixture over popcorn in the roasting pan and stir until all of the popcorn is evenly coated.
- Bake at 250 degrees F (120 degrees C) for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and pour onto waxed paper or aluminum foil to cool.
- Break apart when cool.
