Caramel Apple Cake
Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup applesauce

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the dry ingredients alternately with the applesauce.
  4. Spread evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.
  5. Let cool before icing.
