Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, egg and milk.
  5. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just blended.
  6. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Sprinkle with blueberries.
  8. Top with remaining batter.
  9. Bake for 40 minutes in preheated oven. To test for doneness, insert a toothpick into center of cake. If it comes out clean, it is done.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.
