- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, egg and milk.
- Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just blended.
- Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle with blueberries.
- Top with remaining batter.
- Bake for 40 minutes in preheated oven. To test for doneness, insert a toothpick into center of cake. If it comes out clean, it is done.
- Allow to cool before serving.
