- 1/2 cup cooked brown rice
- 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- In a large bowl, mash black beans with a fork.
- Add the cooked brown rice, onion, bell pepper, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, cilantro and chili powder and mix well.
- Form the mixture into four patties.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Serve on buns with desired toppings.
