- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in milk until dough forms a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead dough 10 times.
- Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
