Beef Empanada Pie
Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the beef over medium heat until no longer pink.
  3. Add the onion and green pepper; cook until tender.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper; cook for 1 minute.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce; simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of cold water; stir into beef mixture and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Pour mixture into an ungreased 9-inch pie plate.
  8. Cover with pastry dough or pre-made empanada shells.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
