- 2lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 (15oz) cans diced tomatoes
- 2 (15oz) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (15oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 (4oz) can diced green chilies
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, green chilies, chili powder, cumin powder, oregano and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce heat to low. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
