- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Toast the walnuts in a skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
- Add the garlic, basil, olive oil, salt and pepper to a food processor and pulse until smooth.
- Transfer the pesto to a bowl and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
- Cook your favorite pasta according to package instructions.
- Toss the cooked pasta with the pesto sauce.
- Serve with grated Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper.
