Bagels
Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups warm water

Steps
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes or until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape into bagels.
  5. Place the bagels on a greased baking sheet and let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool on a wire rack.
