Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  4. Stir in bacon and cheese.
  5. Add buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Pat into an 8-inch circle about 3/4-inch thick.
  7. Cut into 8 wedges and place on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
