- 1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
- 3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Stir in bacon and cheese.
- Add buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Pat into an 8-inch circle about 3/4-inch thick.
- Cut into 8 wedges and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
