- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup bacon fat
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- Heat bacon fat in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add popcorn kernels and cover with a lid.
- Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning.
- Once the popping has slowed, remove from heat and pour into a large bowl.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat.
- Stir until the mixture is bubbling and thickened.
- Pour caramel over popcorn and stir to combine.
- Sprinkle with bacon bits and mix again.
- Spread onto parchment paper to cool.
