- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shell
- TOPPING:
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- In a small bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar and flour until crumbly; set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the apples, cinnamon and nutmeg. Place in pastry shell. Sprinkle with crumb mixture.
- For topping, combine the butter, flour and brown sugar; sprinkle over pie.
- Bake at 375° for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
- Serve warm or cold.
