Apple Pie
Ingredients
  • 2 9-inch unbaked pie crusts
  • 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled tart apples
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  3. Line the bottom of the pie shell with half of the apple mixture.
  4. Dot with 1 tablespoon of butter.
  5. Cover with the other half of the apple mixture.
  6. Dot with remaining butter.
  7. Cover with top crust and crimp edges together to seal.
  8. Cut several slits in top crust to allow steam to escape.
  9. Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 35 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
