Ingredients
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the apples, 1/2 cup brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Place in prepared baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, oats and 3/4 cup brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the apple mixture.
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in preheated oven until topping is golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
