Ingredients
  • 4 ounces self-raising flour
  • 4 ounces shredded suet
  • 4 ounces currants or sultanas
  • 2 ounces sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 pint (300ml) of milk

Steps
  1. Mix together the flour, suet, currants or sultanas, sugar and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add the milk gradually, stirring until you have a soft dough.
  3. Shape the dough into a roll about 2 inches thick.
  4. Wrap in greaseproof paper or foil and steam for 1 hour.
  5. Serve with custard or cream.
