Ingredients
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk

Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour and shortening until crumbly.
  3. Stir in the milk until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  4. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 10 times.
  5. Roll out to 1/2 inch thick and cut with a biscuit cutter.
  6. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
