- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour and shortening until crumbly.
- Stir in the milk until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 10 times.
- Roll out to 1/2 inch thick and cut with a biscuit cutter.
- Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
