- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla.
- Gradually stir in the flour until well blended.
- Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes or until set but not brown.
- Cool on wire racks before rolling in additional confectioners' sugar if desired.
