- 1 pound dried navy beans
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Soak the beans overnight in a large bowl filled with water.
- Drain the beans and transfer them to a large pot. Add enough water to cover the beans by 2 inches.
- Bring the beans to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining ingredients.
- Add the mixture to the cooked beans and stir until combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish and bake uncovered for 1 hour or until thickened.
- Serve hot.
