- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for kneading)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Add maple syrup, melted butter, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes.
- Place in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread softened butter over the top of the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Roll up the dough into a log shape and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place cinnamon rolls into a greased baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake cinnamon rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
