- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
- Add the oil and warm water and stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into an oval shape about 1/4 inch thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Place one naan onto the skillet and cook for 2 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
- Repeat with remaining naan.
- Brush cooked naan with melted butter or ghee and sprinkle with minced garlic before serving.
