- 1. Park your car in a safe place and turn off the engine.

- 5. Lift out the old battery and place it aside.
- 6. Place the new car battery in its compartment, making sure it is secure.
- 7. Reattach the positive cable to the new battery first, using a socket wrench.
- 8. Reattach the negative cable to the new battery next, using a battery wrench.
- 9. Close your car's hood and start up your engine.
