- Park your car on a flat surface and turn off the engine.
- Lift the hood and locate the oil cap.
- Remove the oil cap and place it aside.
- Place a pan or container beneath the oil pan to catch the used oil.
- Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the oil pan using an adjustable wrench.
- Allow all of the used motor oil to drain out of your car into the pan or container.
- Replace the drain plug and tighten it securely with an adjustable wrench.
- Locate your new oil filter and unscrew it using an oil filter wrench.
- Gently press down on your new filter until you hear a clicking sound, indicating that it is secure in place.
- Pour new motor oil into your funnel, then slowly pour it into your engine's filler tube until you reach the desired level indicated on your dipstick.
- Replace your engine's oil cap, then start up your vehicle to check for any leaks. If there are none, you can close up your hood and enjoy driving!
