- 1. Open the hood of your car and locate the battery.
- 2. Remove the negative cable first by loosening the terminal clamp bolt with a socket wrench, and then remove it from the negative post.
- 3. Remove the positive cable in the same manner.
- 4. Use a wire brush to clean any corrosion from the terminals and posts.
- 5. Place your new battery in position and secure it with clamps or bolts.
- 6. Reconnect the positive cable first, followed by the negative cable.
- 7. Tighten both clamps securely with a socket wrench or pliers.
