- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups long grain white rice
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in rice; cook and stir for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth; season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan cheese. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
